Single room bar adjacent to the University. Formerly known as Hearts of Oak, then the Variety it reopened on 8th September 2018 and has been re-named Vinyl Tap. There are six real ale pumps on the bar, including their house beer from Kirkby Lonsdale brewery, vinyl themed events and a vinyl-style jukebox where people can pick and chose vinyl from an ever-growing collection or bring their own to be played while enjoying a drink and a bite to eat with a wide range of authentic German hotdogs available from 4pm. Fridays and Saturdays vary between live music artists and guest vinyl DJ slots with music spanning most genres. There is also a quiz every Wednesday and Open Mic on a Monday. Awarded the Central Lancashire CAMRA Most Improved Pub of the Year 2019.

Barney's Piano Bar, Preston has an interesting past, from 1960s pork market, slaughterhouse and butchers to 1970s electrical hardware store; it has seen many faces. After a change of ownership in 2020 and a face lift the pub is reopening showing live sports and promising good beer and great atmosphere.

Very popular local with food served all day. Large pub with large outdoor drinking/smoking area. CAMRA members are entitled to a 20p a pint discount and on Monday evenings all cask ales are £2.70 per pint. Trendy new micro pub in the pub desert of Hesketh Bank a village of just 5,000 inhabitants. The pub is a former hair salon which opened in May 2021 after the Covid 19 lockdown. Kopar is primarily a wine bar but plans to serve two real ales with the emphasis being on using local breweries. Nearby is the West Lancashire Light Railway a narrow gauge tourist steam railway and the RSPB Hesketh Bank bird reserve.
