Standard
24 High Street (North End), Northallerton DL7 8EE
Half a mile north of the town centre, opposite Sainsbury’s supermarket on the A167 Darlington road, this community local takes its name from the English defeat of the Scots at the nearby Battle of the Standard in 1138. The interior decor is 'olde worlde' style with bare stone and brickwork and old photographs, and three distinct drinking areas offering good value, wholesome food. Until recently the large beer garden to the rear contained a Jet Provost aircraft - it has now been relocated to Fishburn airfield.

Narrow single-bar town-centre pub allegedly named after a local highwayman. Popular with all ages, it offers a couple of local and regional guest beers.
