14th century pub converted in 2013 to an upmarket hotel and restaurant with a modern interior. The small bar, with woodburner, is now predominantly an area for diners and those waiting for the restaurant. Opens for breakfast, including non-residents, at 7am Mon-Fri & at 8am Sat & Sun. There is a carvery on Sun from 12noon-4pm - two sittings, booking is advised. Leased from Brakspear by The Tailor Made Dining Company who also run the Crown in Playhatch.

Village club that hosts a folk club on Mondays, dance classes on Tuesdays, Yudansha Karate on Tuesdays and Fridays, dances on Saturdays, and participates in a local darts league. It has two halls, both of which can be hired weddings, parties, dances, concerts, wakes, etc.; one hall seats 120 people and the other 80.
