Harbourside historic 14th century smugglers Thatched inn with crooked stairways, narrow passages, sloping floors and low beams. R.D. Blackmore wrote several chapters of Lorna Doone while staying in one of the rooms. Accomodation comprises 16 well appointed, individual rooms, all en-suite and most with sea views. Keeping at least 4 real ales all year, specialising in local seafood, Exmoor Meat & Game. Wonderful harbour side views to the Sea & Exmoor hills in the distance. The Rising Sun also operates an Outside Bar Service , offering a fully equipped bar to fit any venue.

Recently refurbished to a very high standard, The Ancient Mariner bar is situated within the Bath Hotel on Lynmouth front overlooking the harbour. Serving at least three real ales with a four guest ale ( at least two local beers) at peak times. Very pleasant surroundings with real log fire. Good food is a feature of the place. Family & dog friendly.

Dog friendly and ever popular with walkers and hikers, this privately owned and run 13th-century inn lies on the old coaching route from Porlock to Lynmouth. The unspoilt interior has low ceilings, blackened beams and stone fireplaces. Four real ales are usually available, including a very good house beer and at least one guest. Good food from an extensive menu is served all day, except between three and six during the winter months.
