Long-standing wine merchants, who operate a small chain of wine bars. No real ale but a draught lager is available and there is a drinking area at the front.

Jamies

47 Ludgate Hill, London EC4M 7JZ

A converted Midland Bank building, dating from 1891, which was a wine bar before being bought by the Jamies chain in 2010/2011. It is a spectacular building, Grade 2 Listed, with a terracotta exterior, high plasterwork ceiling, decorative wood panelling around the walls, arched windows, island bar, green marble floor. No real ale and only one draught lager, but a few US bottles of the slightly better sort, e.g. Anchor, Goose Island.

Beduin

Opened in 1996 as a Dome Free House/cafe bar in former commercial premises. Then leased to Babushka chain and converted to Beduin operated by Stonegate. Newly refurbished interior is filled with a combination of intense neon lights and colourful leather sofas, with the capacity of approx. 200 people, 2 bars and a huge dance floor downstairs.

Sold to Davy’s and renamed in February 2017 EL VINO, the first such new opening since Davy’s acquired the El Vino chain in 2015. Two keg beers from Meantime.
