Strugglers Inn

83 Westgate, Lincoln LN1 3BG

Located in Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter at the base of the castle walls is this small and popular pub, known to its locals as the Struggs, the small pub is big on character. A warm welcome from the staff, two real fires make it snug in winter, in summer the rear sunken terrace is a lunchtime sun-trap. Upcoming ales are listed on a chalkboard above one of the two fireplaces. Two dark ales usually feature among the frequently changing beer selection, with some stronger beers tending to appear at weekends. The walls and ceiling of the main bar are covered in pumpclips from the 600-plus different beers served each year. There's regular live music on most Sunday teatimes and occasional Saturday evenings plus there's a monthly book club in the Snug, but the main source of entertainment is conversation. Snacks such as filled rolls and pork pies are available. Winner of many local CAMRA awards including Lincolnshire Pub of the Year 2019. Has been identified by CAMRA as having a regionally important historic pub interior.

Victoria

The Victoria has been a public house as far back as the 1840's. Residing by the west gate of the historic Lincoln Castle, this Batemans public house is popular with locals and tourists alike. As well as its Good Honest Ales, the pub has quality changing guest ales sourced from around the UK. There's regular music and fortnightly quizzes in the bar and a Board games group that meets on Tuesdays in the upstairs room. The outdoor seating area is a summer suntrap, perfect for watching the world go by over a lazy alfresco lunch or a pint at any time of day. Meals are served at lunchtimes, sandwiches and snacks are available all day.

A continental style beer bar cConverted in 2012 from a retail outlet and retaining the shop-front windows onto the Strait. DJs provide music on Friday and Saturday nights with an acoustic night on Sundays.

Cardinal's Hat

268 High Street, Lincoln LN2 1HW

Built in the 15th Century, this timber-framed building was as an inn during the 16th and 17th centuries. It is reputedly named after Cardinal Wolsey, Bishop of Lincoln 1514-1515. The Grade II listed structure was restored 1952-53 by St John Ambulance Brigade. The sensitive conversion has revealed a number of historical features.

BeerHeadZ

A bright, colourful pub with an industrial feel situated in the uphill city area. It is part of a small chain of new generation indie-pubs. The pub serves up to four cask ales, craft keg beers, two ciders and a range of bottled and canned beers using oversized glasses. Customers are welcome to bring in their own food. Regular events include quizzes, live music and tap takeovers.

Dog & Bone

The eastern most pub of down hill Lincoln. The Dog is a true community pub under a new tenant from November 2020. The main bar also features a dartboard. The pubs side room is home to a book swap library and a host of board games. In the finer weather enjoy the suntrap beer garden which also has a function room know as the kennel.

A student bar located in the Engine Shed, a large live music and entertainment facility on the University of Lincoln campus in the Victorian railway engine sheds. Tower Bars was originally the engine sheds water tower and separate from the main hall. University of Lincoln students and staff only Non-staff and students are welcome on event and gig nights open to the public.

Gatehouse Inn

A lively community pub situated in the southern area of the city. Live music and karaoke nights feature together with sports TV.

Golden Eagle

This friendy two roomed old coaching inn has up to nine real ales and at least one real cider. The bar is welcoming but can get busy on match days. The lounge is quiet, relaxed and cosy with old football programs on display. Social events include two summer beer festivals, occasional live music, speciality tasting events and brewery nights, Friday is quiz night. Outside is a large premier beer garden, including sheltered seating, lights and heaters. The pub is welcoming to children and well behaved dogs. Small function room is available.

Joiners Arms

4 Victoria Street, Lincoln LN1 1HU

A friendly mid 19th century sanctuary tucked away from the commotion of the city centre. Its deceptive early-60s style exterior leads into a traditional pub interior. The decor is a traditional town pub style with pictures of bygone Lincoln upon the walls. You enter into the main lounge with open fireplace and hosting Lincoln's only bar billiards table. Two steps up to the bar, which has up to five changing ales often featuring local breweries. A recently refurbished pool and darts area are to the left of the bar. Regular events include live music, quizzes and more. Live music on the 3rd Sunday of the month, when the pub opens at 2pm, upcoming events can be seen on their regularly updated Facebook Page. The adjacent car park is free after 6pm and all day Sunday.

Bentley's Bar

This idiosyncratic pub attracts a diverse clientele and is situated near the foot of Lindum Hill. Changed management in late 2019 with alterations to the pub style and layout ongoing. The decoration is Art Deco in style and a side room has reclaimed cinema seating. The colours in the sparkly-topped bar tables reflect in the crystal-clear beers. Music is a major feature, with a juke box, regular live sessions and quizzes. The large, rear courtyard has seating and a covered area where bands perform in summer.
