Paddle Steamer

This seafront Wetherspoon's outlet has a nautical theme. There is a feature fire in the centre of the bar and a viewing window into the cellar. An outside balcony borders the promenade overlooked by wide windows with views to the Isles of Bute and Cumbrae, the ferry to the latter being only a minute away. Models of the world famous paddle steamer Waverley decorate the outside, while the real ship visits Largs throughout the summer. Licensed from 11am.

This friendly, one-roomed pub is situated on the seafront near the pier and Cumbrae ferry terminal, close to the railway station. Handy for the Waverley paddle steamer in summer. Re-opened June 2014 with new name. One changing guest beer. Children are now welcome when eating with adults. Due to the one hand pump, beers are occasionally unavailable while switching barrels.

Set back from the seafront, Sharps is located on the corner of Nelson Street and Boyd Street. It is a large, traditional pub with several drinking spaces. An open fire warms the bar area and there is a beer garden outside. Quality pub meals are served. Games and sport are shown on TV and live music plays occasionally. Real ale not being sold at present, but may return in the future.

This bar and restaurant, with function room and roof terrace, is located on the first floor of an old Victorian taproom and ballroom that has been refurbished tastefully in a modern style. A wide variety of quality food is available including Scottish meat and fish. No longer sells real ale but the extensive drinks portfolio includes many cocktails. Entertainment is provided several times per week and includes DJ nights, live bands, quiz nights, comedy theatre and magic shows.

Busy, one-roomed, traditional pub situated on the main street of this popular Clyde coast town. Opposite the railway station, it is also on main bus routes and close to the ferry to Cumbrae. A second guest ale is available in summer, and a good range of malt whiskies is also stocked. A simple menu of pub meals is available all day. Regular karaoke evenings are hosted at weekends. Children are not permitted. Currently closed and a new tenant is being sought. Re-opened July 2017.

Formerly the Clachan, this pub has been tastefully refurbished throughout. Approximately 100m from the ferry terminal, it has a rear access from the promenade. There are two ever-changing real ales. Evening entertainment includes live music, quiz nights, karaoke and poker. A small snug off the main bar offers privacy for families, private meetings etc. Quality pub food is available lunchtimes and afternoons, including Thai speciality dishes.
