'Sophisticated simplicity' is probably a good description of the Dog & Donkey's philosophy, as they are passionate about providing honestly good West Country food and ales, with excellent customer service. The current occupant, Nick, took over the pub in December 2015, and have now brought it back to become the hub of the community. It has been completely refurbished, and provides excellent menus and well kept ales. A pub to be proud of!. The pub has a rear garden which is ideal for those long summer nights.

A wide range of quality real ales can be found at this traditional pub, as well as real cider from the Westons range. In recent years it has been a regular winner of the local CAMRA branch pub of the year, and is a popular meeting place for those visiting the many local restaurants. Wi-fi is available, and major sporting events are shown on Sky Sports TV. Light meals are served from 12-2pm (Monday to Saturday).

Friendly pub sited off the main road in its own grounds right next to the canal which runs along the rear of the pub. There is a large garden from which to watch the boats go by. Excellent traditional food is served with three real fires to keep warm in winter. A classic car meet is held between April and September on the first Tuesday evening of the month. Children welcome.

In a large, 17th century Grade II listed building, this pub has a single bar serving a number of secluded areas. The interior has been extensively modernised while still retaining some of the original character, including exposed beams and a cast iron fireplace dating from 1779. Three coal-effect gas fires add to the ambiance. Up to five regularly changing guest ales and two regulars are on offer along with standard Ember Inns food.

The pub stocks at least one real ale from the local Silhill brewery, along with one from Church End and guests and real cider, and also offers wines and spirits, including speciality gins. There is free wifi; the usual pub snacks are available. Branch Pub of the Year 2018 and 2019, West Midlands County pub of the year 2019.
