Fantastic interior décor - with a rich ceiling, original bar counter, island back bar, screen partition, etched and cut glass and very decorative cornice. A Grade II listed building and listed by CAMRA as having an historic pub interior of national importance. There is a separate dining area - suspect this was the former billiards room - and the meal times above are for the restaurant, bar food is available throughout the day. What was a separate side entrance for the hotel has now been incorporated back into the pub creating a small side room. Opposite The Tricycle Theatre. In 2013 the owner/licensee took the unusual step of removing all draught beer in protest at the pricing policies of the large Pubcos for, although owning the freehold, he remained a tenant of Enterprise to whom he was leasing the property! However, in Dec 2015 the pub tweeted it was free of tie and draught has returned. However, more often than not, cask beer was unavailable or patchy at best. By May 2019 the handpumps had been removed.

Traditional Pub Games

Following a refurbishment, reopened in April 2018 as part of Ei Group's managed division. Just off the Kilburn High Road, the Priory Tavern has stood at this site since at least 1927, and most likely before that. Its exterior features some fine signs of its former life as a Truman's pub as does an interior illuminated sign. Lots of stripped wood with exposed and varnished floorboards surround a large island bar. While it has a contemporary feel aimed at a younger clientele, it should be attractive to all ages as conversation is positively encouraged. Dart board, piano and quiz night Tuesdays. Won Enterprise Regional Cellar Keeper of the Year 2015 for the quality of its Cask Ales. The house beer is Mad Goose until October and then Landlord for the winter. Well worth visiting. Monday's Happy Hour All night. Tuesday's Quiz Night Every 2 weeks. Weds Double Dip Day 2 for £12 all day. Thurs Music Night. Fri Burger & Beer £12. Sat Flight Of The Chicken 2 for £10 12.00-19.00. Sun Roasts Bloody Mary Reggae 12-21.00

Underwent a make-over a few years ago with new carpets and furniture. A very large pub with sports screens, some booths and a marvelous old pub mirror. Could be described as a remnant of old Kilburn which may be slowly fading away. It extends back to a decked patio and huge back garden overlooking the railway. The cask beer was very good value at £2.05 at Sept 2013. Extensive pub grub menu until 21.00. Recently re-opened [Nov 2015] after a short (less than 2 weeks) refurbishment closure. Four handpumps were visible selling London Pride, Doom Bar and Adnams Ghost Ship with the fourth pump unused.

Following extensive refurbishment both inside and out, this pub emerged as a restaurant called Osteria del Ponte. However, it has now (2013) become the Betsy Smith and while still having a major food element, is back to being more like a pub, where you can just get a drink, if sadly not cask beer. In September 2016 became the Bokor,

Juniper

Closed July 2016 due to "technical problem" but then re-opened after sale by Greene King to a private purchaser. After a brief closure reopened Jan 2019 as The Juniper. Real ale is not always available. A marvellous looking building with some striking interior features, wood panelling wraps around the wall with built-in mirrors, and a fine fireplace above which is an old looking Cock Tavern clock. The ceiling is also well worth looking at with some fine carving. Towards the back is a pool table and darts table. There is ample seating throughout. It used to be home to The Cock Tavern Theatre but this closed in 2011 - the Victorian staircases being "too steep and too short". The building is locally listed by Brent Council: https://www.brent.gov.uk/media/16415196/locally-listed-heritage-assets-in-brent-full-list.pdf

Earl of Derby

Live Music

In 2013 M&B took this pub back into direct management, they have thoroughly repainted interior and exterior while retaining the same essential layout. A Victorian building occupying an imposing corner site that was originally named The Earl Derby. Themed quiz night Tuesday. On opening night the guest beers were Jarrow Rivet Catcher and Leeds Gathering Storm. The usual array of craft kegs supporting London brewers such as Meantime and Camden Town. However, by Aug 2014 only one beer was on sale and the "forthcoming beer" sign had been removed. Extensive menu served from opening until 10. At the time, we wrote "A welcome addition to the Kilburn cask beer scene, an area that has proved obstinate to the real ale revival." It looks as if that obstinacy remains. Indeed in April 2018, no cask beer at all was on sale.

Was a restaurant in 1989 and then an Irish pub by 1993. Closed in 2018 and reopened as a live music venue run by Vince Power in 2019. From their website: "We are open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Live Football matches and every gig night from 7 pm. We will keep you posted of when Football matches are on! (No Admission after 12:30am)" The Kingdom bar was one of the many Irish bars along Kilburn High Road and was hugely popular amongst GAA fans and the Irish community, especially Kerry fans, as the pub was painted in their team's colours - green and gold! The bar was one of the Kissane Taverns pubs around North West London, which have all now closed. All the big GAA and rugby matches were shown and everyone would stand for the Irish National Anthem before the games. The closure of the bar in 2018, was a sign of the times, but it reopened in early 2019, as the new live music venue - The Fiddler. We have uploaded a picture of how it looked as The Kingdom.

North London Tavern

North London Tavern

375 Kilburn High Road, Kilburn NW6 7QB

Real Ale Available
Real Cider Available

A central bar breaks up the pub and the decorated ceiling, lighting, wooden seating and floor create a warm ambience. There is a gastro-style restaurant at the rear in a very nice room but bar snacks are also available. Function room for hire. Beer range changes and can often feature London breweries such as Sambrook's or Truman's. Quiz Tues nights, DJs Fri/Sat nights from 10pm and Sun jazz. Outside seating on busy main road or slightly less busy side road. The pub was opened out in a November 2014 refurbishment but its essentially pleasant interior remains. Brondesbury station is on the London Overground. Trad cider can come and go. On a visit in December 2019 there were 2 guest beers on cask, one from the new Goodness Brewery in Haringey and Sambrook's.

Carlton Tavern

Carlton Tavern

33a Carlton Vale, Kilburn NW6 5EU

Real Ale Available
Garden
Family Friendly

A site now nationally-famous to CAMRA members; after being illegally demolished the developer was forced by Westminster Council to rebuild this pub brick by brick. (For the old pub see the WhatPub entry under "Carlton Tavern, demolished".) Much was salvaged from the wreckage of the old pub, including tiles, reusable bricks and the original bar and fireplaces, and some of the decorative ceilings were also rescued. The opportunity was taken to redesign the internal layout by moving the kitchen to the basement, which had previously been used as changing rooms for a local hockey team. The inside is quite roomy, stretching around the bar to a dining room at the back. Outside is a garden/patio area also used for dining in summer. The new pub showcases the best brewers and distillers in London, alongside a fresh, seasonal menu in the new dining room. The ale offerings include a house bitter. The pub is halfway between Kilburn Park and Maida Vale tube stations and the area to the south is affluent, with the pub clientele reflecting that.
