Large brick built roadside pub, part of the Flaming Grill chain, handily placed next to A194/Calf Close roundabout. Very much food orientated with themed meal nights. Seating is comfortable and old pictures of Jarrow adorn the walls. There are benches at the front entrance and a large car park at the rear entrance. The pub also has a taxi office Not far from bus stops and Fellgate Metro Station. There are 3 handpulls available with a mixture of Greene King beers.

This is a well appointed conversion from the old Crusader, in the 'traditional' ex Jarrow Brewery style, with an emphasis on wooden paneling, carpets, vintage photographs of the area including the shipyards, pits, pubs and street scenes. The pub was renamed Albion Gin & Ale House in early 2020, and serves up to four ales, and also sell a range of 22 gins. Near the entrance is a cask ale blackboard which includes an Ale Of The Moment offered at a discount. There is an old time singalong Monday and Friday lunchtime, Thursday is buskers night with entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening. Every Sunday from 4pm there is a quiz followed by karaoke. Take time to examine the ornate tiling on the outside of the building. About 10 minutes walk to Bus and Metro Station.

Built in the latter part of the 19th Century, the pub contains a medium size single room which in former years was split down the middle to form a bar and a lounge. Interesting Jarrow themed photographs and paintings adorn the walls of this popular community pub. There is a small function room upstairs. Live music features Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights as well Monday & Friday afternoons from 1pm Handy for town centre shops and the bus & metro station.
