Real Fire

A comfortable, cosy and friendly pub. Unusually for this locality the building has a thatched roof, hence its local name 'The Thatch'. Three beers from Batemans are generally available plus a guest. Reputedly the pub inspired an OO gauge Hornby model, an example of which is displayed behind the bar. Summertime sees the pub resplendent with hanging baskets and it has been the winner of Bateman's Floral Display competition. Try spotting the pub cat, Rufus.

Old Nicks Tavern

8 North Street, Horncastle LN9 5DX

Built in 1752 as a coaching inn, this original building is now a town centre pub with its own micro-brewery, the home of Horncastle Ales. The pub has been refurbished and incorporates the old pub sign and old photos of the pub. The pub has regular live bands. There are five handpumps, four of which are usually from the Horncastle brewery. The head brewster is the the landlord's daughter. Currently no food.

Typical market-town pub with a large bar/lounge with old bay windows overlooking the Bull Ring town centre. Framed photographs of Lion Theatre productions from 1988 adorn the walls. The theatre is part of the pub premises, located at the rear, and run by the Horncastle Theatre Company.

Reasonably priced meals are on offer at this pub in the centre of Horncastle. A front lounge bar leads into a long rear bar with pool table and large sports TV. The pub has recently reopened under new management.

A Coaching Inn's hotel with a bar lounge with modern cafe style design featuring exposed brickwork and wood panelling. The bar extends into a large separate restaurant to the rear.

A former coaching inn in the centre of the town. It is popular and often busy. The bar/lounge has attractive wood-panelling which keeps a traditional feel. There are a number of interesting pictures on view. A few flags hang from the ceiling and TVs keep customers up-to-date with events, particularly sports. Beers are from the Marston's range.
