A lovely and lively Chef and Brewer pub with spacious bar and large restaurant area. The emphasis here is on food service but there are five handpumps serving three guest beers plus Greene King IPA. Large outdoor patio area at the front is dual use as a beer garden and restaurant which is popular in the summer and there is an area for families inside. Located in the Busby Conservation Village, this pub is very bright and spacious. An added bonus are the roaring fires in winter.

The pub received a major makeover in the summer of 2019 by Star pubs and Bars including the Beer Garden which overlooks the River Cart. The L-shaped pub's bar is at the front. The Cartvale’s new menu includes weekend brunch, hand stretched quality pizzas and pub classics such as fish n chips, burgers and sides. Live music is suspended during Covid but Thursday Quiz Nights have resumed.
