This early Victorian backstreet community free house is located just five minutes from the town centre. The Dove has six hand pumps plus jugged ales brought up direct from the cellar. Also a good selection of real ciders. Truly traditional and basic, just how pubs used to be - no lager, TV's, pool or gaming machines. The staff here are very knowledgeable about their ever-changing range of local ales, hence a winner of CAMRA Regional Pub of the Year, twice.

This excellent brewpub is on the site of the original Cannon Brewery. Now in private hands, it is a true free house. The Old Cannon Brewery serves good quality food and comfortable accommodation is available. Both the brewpub and stable block are Grade II Listed. They date from mid 19th century. They brew their own beers on site and have 2 signature beers available throughout the year; Best bitter and Gunner's Daughter and have a rotating seasonal ale which they also brew on site. They conduct tours of the micro brewery (book for tour) and usually brew in the bar using two vessels every Monday and Wednesday.

This former visitor centre and shop located beside the historic Westgate brewery brewhouse has just been revamped (March 2016) into a cafe, shop and bar. It is now undoubtedly the closest public bar to the brewery complex. The bar is now open from 8am until 6pm (Mon-Fri, 10am-6pm Sat), and is licensed for both the general public and brewery tour visitors. Anyone interested in a brewery tour should book first (tours on most days) see their website. The bar will offer a selection of draught products and a full range of bottled and other packaged products from the brewery. Food and snacks including breakfast is also available alongside various other beverages and soft drinks.
