Imposing 17th-century free house built of Hornton stone at the edge of the Broughton Castle estate. This friendly and welcoming hostelry is popular for its beer, food and friendly welcome. The beamed and flag-stoned bar is ideal for sampling the two regular and two guest ales. Food is locally sourced. There is an attractive beer garden for summer drinking and dining, and the pub holds regular events including a monthly quiz. Well worth a visit.

Large tile & pine-floored area that can be divided up to suit various functions and home to several societies and a bi-weekly Wednesday quiz night. Sports TV features. Opens as a café for good value breakfast & lunch between 1000-1400 and a range of sandwiches etc are available when the bar is open. Non-members welcome, especially on match days, as adjacent to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium, home of Airbus UK Broughton FC. A sun-baked 3G beer lawn looks onto the pitch.

Lots of brass and copper pots & pans and an engraved timber spinning wheel. The pub was formerly the Old Hawarden Castle Inn but changed its name in the late 70s. Drinks only.
