Recently reverted back to being the Black Bull this town centre pub underwent extensive refurbishment. Then morphed into a sports bar pub with no food. Comfortable in a modern country style with wood panelling and floors with exposed brickwork and industrial lighting. There is also a raised area †towards the rear. The large beer garden has three cabanas for cosy drinks. No under 18's which includes toddlers and babies.

Uniquely named, traditionally styled town-centre local, with four discrete drinking areas.Two large rooms are simply but tastefully decorated and furnished, and there are sofas in one alcove and traditional pub seating in another. One room has pool, darts and a TV. The adjoining Stables is used for pool competitions. A statue of the stricken gladiator overhangs the pub entrance. No cask beers.

This is a large grade ll listed pub in the central town square next to the River Ancholme. It has a large 'U' shaped bar with frequent live bands at weekends. There are sports TVs in all areas. Clean toilets. This is a lively venue and well managed by an enthusiastic manager and his friendly staff. Whilst there are no cask beers the Guinness is good.
