Green Man
Crowthorne Road, Bracknell RG12 7DL
This truly ancient building, reputedly a 16th Century former coaching inn, has recently reopened after an extensive refit making it a lot more popular locally and with much wider appeal. A new manager started in October 2015. It is now possible to walk all the way around the bar with each ‘area’ identifiable by a different wall pattern and flooring, this having the effect of breaking up a large open area into individual ‘snug’ type spaces. The ‘L’ shaped bar area with bright white wall tiles provides a central focus for the whole pub. Here six handpumps have been installed, with an example of each offering placed by the respective handpump. Food is served all day. The menu is extensive. Sunday roasts are popular. The rear garden has several benches but the children’s play area has yet to be refurbished so is not in use at present. Five TV’s showing Sky Sports and BT Sports (four inside, one outside) have been installed. Board games, a quiz night, poker night and live music at weekends are also planned.

Silver Birch
Liscombe, Bracknell RG12 7DE
A recently refurbished friendly local where a warm welcome is assured from Rob and his team. The main bar has three hand-pumps, with Abbot being a permanent fixture and two changing beers supplied from the Greene King range. Food is available all day every day. A quiz is held every Thursday evening and there is live music on a Friday or Saturday night, sometimes on both nights if there is a demand. Dominoes and crib are played regularly by sections of the locals and charity events support MacMillan Nurses. On both sides of the entrance are raised ‘eating’ areas, one with French doors leading to the small patio area to the front. To the left of the main bar is a large area with another smaller bar, four Sports TVs, pool table, three gaming machines and a dart board. A real cider festival is held every year around July and the current management intend to provide real cider during the whole of the summer period.
