Quiz Night

Much extended 16th century ironstone building, converted to an inn in the late 18th century. Situated on the former main road through Bloxham adjacent to the small village green. The interior is on many levels reflecting the development of the building, and is mainly set for dining; breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. One notable feature in the rear extension is the glass covered well. To the rear is a patio area with covered area for smokers, an Aunt Sally pitch and the garden with children's play area. Four ales are served usually sourced from the extended Marston's range. A well-attended quiz is usually held weekly.

Accommodation

17th century Hook Norton coaching inn boasting historic features and lots of character which has been in the hands of the same family for over 40 years. Once upon a time it straddled the turnpike from Banbury to Chipping Norton. When the new A361 was driven through the village, the 'Ele' was left tucked away on a quiet side street. The carriage entrance now leads to the car park, garden, terrace and the front door. Two well-kept Hook Norton ales are available along with a guest ale sourced by Hooky. Also available are several ciders and perries from Westons, Hogans and others; indeed it is a recent branch Cider Pub of the Year. Good homemade food is served at lunchtimes (not Sunday). Its two quality accommodation rooms make it an ideal base to explore the attractions of the Cotswolds.

Purchased from Fullers in January 2016 by the couple who run the Joiners Arms just down the road. It has been tastefully refurbished and reconfigured to make better use of the space. It is unashamedly a food-led pub with a quality food offering and the tables set for dining, but drinkers are welcome and the bar features two handpumps serving beer from the Marston's stable of brands.
