Crown Inn

Three-roomed family-run pub at the top of the main street. This busy, friendly Dales inn attracts a good mix of locals and visitors, and is particularly popular for its bar meals based on locally sourced produce.. The interior has been partly opened out but retains much of its traditional character, with a very impressive range in the cosy snug. King's Arms

This historic Grade II listed Dales free house of great character starred as 'The Drover's Arms' in the original 'All Creatures Great and Small'. A huge open fireplace and painting of the local friendly society add character to the stone-flagged bar. There are separate dining rooms plus a vaulted games room to the rear and a small outdoor courtyard. Three house beers are from the Yorkshire Dales brewery, a few hundred yards away.

The former Winville Hotel only gained a full licence in 1999 and was substantially modernised before reopening in 2005.
