Newbridge End Inn
Penybont Road, Abertillery NP13 1JF
Pendragon
Oak Street, Abertillery NP13 1TE
Pontlottyn
Somerset Street, Abertillery NP13 1DJ
A refreshing newcomer to the town circuit, named after the former store premises it now occupies rather than the Rhymney Valley town. Much dark wood in evidence and clever use of mirrors make the interior look large that it is. Local colliery history is displayed on the walls and there is a star corner with pictures of film stars. An added attraction is the sheltered sunken garden terrace. Typical of most JD Wetherspoon outlets it has become a social hub and has introduced hitherto rare ales to an area where real ale was in danger of fading away.
Henrison Inn
Bridge Street, Abertillery NP13 1UB
Following a major rebuild and refurbishment following a ground floor fire after which the property was deemed to be beyond economical repair, against the odds it has bounced back under a new guise. It is now n up-market venue for functions. More developments are planned with accommodation and food huts to be installed in the large garden. Primarily a restaurant with a bar.
Rolling Mill
16 Church Street, Abertillery NP13 1DA
Centrally placed pub on a main shopping thoroughfare about midway between the two main bus stops. It's a friendly community pub that hosts live entertainment at weekends. Once owned by Phillips Brewery of Newport before they were taken over by Simmonds of Reading in 1949 who were themselves bought by Courage in 1960.

Somerset Hotel
21 Somerset Street, Abertillery NP13 1DJ
A long time favourite in the middle of the shopping centre with a green and beige tiled exterior. One handpump used to dispense a guest ale but it is not known if this is still the case. After a period of closure in mid 2018 it was relaunched as a gin house.

Glynmawr Hotel
Ty Bryn Road, Abertillery NP13 1PH
A short climb up the hill takes you to the entrance of this traditional valleys pub which was once in the hands of Webbs Brewery of Aberbeeg. It has a long crown skittles alley and the local team built a formidable reputation winning many trophies along with successful darts teams. Listed for sale at £195,950 with Meridian Businees Sales (April 2021)
Oak Street Social Club
25 Oak Street, Abertillery NP13 1TE
Having undergone a major refurbishment in Autumn 2015, this club cum pub has started to attract solid local support. Sports enthusiasts are catered for with big screens to view major events while apart from a pool table it may soon be possible to play skittles once the alley is made ready. The handpumps are currently redundant (Jan 2016) after a false start when the ales did not go well but hopefully they will be occupied again by some tasty ales in due course.
