Heist Rules
How to pull off the perfect heist
Objective
Get in, grab the loot, get out. Don't let the guards catch you. Every puzzle is solvable — but can you do it in the fewest moves?
Collect all loot
Reach the exit
Don't get caught
How It Works
You (The Thief)
You move one cell per turn — up, down, left, or right. You can also wait in place (the guard still moves). Walls block your path.
The Guard
After each of your moves, the guard takes two steps toward you. The guard follows a predictable pattern:
- Tries to close horizontal distance first (left/right toward you)
- If blocked by a wall, tries vertical instead (up/down)
- Takes up to 2 steps per turn using this logic
Walls
Thick borders between cells are walls. Neither you nor the guard can pass through them. Walls are your greatest tool — use them to trap or redirect the guard.

- The guard always tries horizontal first. Use vertical walls to waste its horizontal step, then slip away.
- Waiting is a valid move. Sometimes you need the guard to come closer before you can lure it into a trap.
- Lure the guard into a corner or dead-end where walls block it from both directions.
- Every puzzle has an optimal solution. Try to match it for a Perfect Heist!
