Global warming has now seen the extinction of polar bears in North Yorkshire but you will always get a warm welcome in this traditional pub. Left is a gem of a restaurant, booking advised, and right is a classic pub bar. This is an excellent example of the autovac system being put to good use so beer is always fresh and lively, and the staff are helpful, warm and friendly. Twice winner of York branch pub of the season; a pub definitely worth making the effort to visit if you are not already a regular.
