This thriving street-corner pub, within sight of the city walls, has been free of tie since 2017. Grade II listed, the  traditional West Riding-style drinking lobby and two bars makes the interior friendly and comfortable and also of national historic importance. To the back is a heated and partially covered beer garden where it hosts an annual beer festival jointly with the nearby Slip Inn. Pub of the Season Winter 2017.
