The premises were originally tea-rooms, then a restaurant ("The Haywain") before becoming a the River & Rail pub in 2000. Following its sale in 2010 it was extensively refurbished by the new owners.
This food-orientated pub enjoys a delightful setting in a small hamlet on the banks of the River Severn. There are lots of outdoor tables, a covered dining area and benches in the gardens where visitors can enjoy ales, pub meals and delicacies from the tearoom and deli.
The pub itself has a single bar area and a large dining area at a lower level.
