Unspoilt (said author) 18th Century inn overlooking the Lower Calder Valley, with a low beamed ceiling and a huge open fireplace. It has been extensively, yet sympathetically rebuilt by the owner. Good quality bar meals and snacks were served. A rotating guest beer was stocked (2001). A paved seating area at the front of the pub has an adjacent children's adventure play area. Re-opened late Oct 2013 with 5 cask ales, and food to follow, possibly early 2014.
Hours shown are those usually operated but it may close earlier subject to demand owing to pub's rural location.
