Known as the Church House, this village and community pub dates from 1777. Four handpumps in the beamed bar area often offer beer from breweries in the Heavy Woollen district. A colourful mural depicting Thornhill's history illuminates the lounge. Traditional bar billiards is played in the tap room which stands on the consecrated ground of the parish church. A steep staircase leads to a "secret garden" with picnic tables for barbecues. Saturdays are popular with themed homemade meal evenings. Children are welcome in the large garden. Home-made food available for small and large groups by prior arrangement only.
