Princess of Wales

Opening hours

This welcome retreat from Villiers Street has portraits and biographies of famous local residents on the walls of the ground-floor bar, including Alexandra, wife of Edward VII, after whom the pub was named (despite contrary information on the pub's web-site). The upstairs "Rudyard Kipling Dining Lounge" has its own bar and street entrance. There are occasional "Meet the Brewer" evenings and Nicholson's Beer Festivals. Be aware that after 8 PM beer is only served in plastic containers due to the adjacency of Charing Cross railway station. The food offering includes some interesting starters plus pub classics.
