After various incarnations since the mid-1990's, this site reopened in 2018 as a branch of the Alchemist cocktail bar chain. The Alchemist invested £1.6m in the bar and restaurant and the site’s interior design follows the owner's trademark “copper-cased wonderland” look, with amber, copper and red interiors and gothic artwork. Various keg beers are available and there is a food offering all day including breakfast and brunch. The venue is close to various theatres and like other watering holes nearby may be very crowded in early evening with a combination of after-work and pre-theatre trade.
