1897 corner pub now promoted as the 'Cornerstone of Fitzrovia - a proper pub, with proper grub and a nice drop of ale'. Following a pub crawl along Tottenham Court Road which included the former (1777) pub on this site, Karl Marx and a companion smashed a street light and were chased by the police.
