Re-opened October 2018 after extensive refurbishment by new owners, Black Country Ales, and thoroughly brought up to date with sheltered courtyard, astro turf and modern toilets including disabled.
The pub interior has been traditionally brought up to date with clean lines and homely upholstery. The original fireplace has been retained and sports log and coal fires on colder nights. The dart board is in an enclosed booth. The bar has 10 handpulls, 3 devoted to Black Country Ales, five for guests and two for real cider. Generous bar snacks are available and dogs are allowed.
No children after 7pm. Accommodation is available next door (no connection with Black Country Ales).
Anvil Ale (4.0% ABV) is Simpkiss Bitter brewed by Enville Brewery in Staffordshire.
The easiest route from the railway station is through the car park.
