Crown Inn

This 16th Century former coaching inn is set on a hilltop in the scenic South Shropshire hills. It is a low beamed old fashioned sort of place, and with it being comfortable and friendly, it's well worth seeking out. And seemingly, although there have been management changes over the years, they have done little to change what is clearly a winning formula! The landlords are very keen supporters of local breweries. Food is served in the large bar or a separate dining area, with meats supplied locally. There is also a separate snug to the rear fo more secluded dining, plus 2 outside drinking areas, one of which is covered. As a reminder of bygone days, there are framed cigarette and cigar cards on the wall of the bar. There is an obvious countryside theme, with horse and carriage paraphernalia on the walls, and eggs for sale (from a variety of birds including pheasants and turkeys). Indeed, stabling/grazing facilities are available for those on riding holidays. There's a nice range of home made jams and pickles for sale, the proceeds from which are donated to charities.
