Talbot Inn

Opening hours

The Talbot is a Grade II listed former coaching inn which came under the ownership of Joule's brewery in April 2013 as one of their Tap Houses, In December 2015 it re-opened under new management after having been closed for a few months for a major refurbishment. The result is another tasteful Joule's job which respects the attributes of a pub. The feel of a welcoming country local is enhanced by low beams, wood burning stoves, traditional flooring, extensive use of wood and interesting historical memorabilia. There are four different places to linger each with its own character. Maybe of particular interest is the room which is done out library style, with book shelves and wooden alcoves. Another notable feature is the conversion of the former brewery in the yard into a rather grand function room. The Brewhouse was originally run by Captain Luxmoore, hence the brewing of a special beer bearing his name. Some further information can be found on the plaque in the new function room. Also look out for the range of interesting spirits including a vodka made out of milk! Worth noting is the stained glass artist's Paul Georgiou's signature bee on the glass pictures of Talbots.
