Antelope

A large Victorian community pub serving a frequently changing variety of ales and food all day, with Sunday roasts especially popular. Candles and a real fire give a cosy feel to this friendly, welcoming pub, revived in 2009 by Antic, with interior painted green and decorated with stuffed animals and china plates. At the back is a dining area and a huge separate room which at weekends becomes the Anchor Bar (no real ale). There is live music on Thursdays and various classes are held in the function room upstairs. Formerly Jack Beards, previously the Foresters Arms for 40 years.
