Imposing corner pub, now a smartish 'bar and grill' with light cream walls and ceilings over dark panelling and varnished floorboards, some exposed brickwork and a cherub motif extending to a framed modern plaster casting. Imaginatively laid out, it has several seating areas at different levels around the onel bar, a flagged, part-covered enclosed patio to rear and benches and tables at the front.
Before 2003 this was the Freedom & Firkin; it had originally been the Tooting Tavern. More recently it was the George until 2006, then the Garden House. Under the current regime it has a welcoming atmosphere. The closest pub to St George's Hospital, it offers NHS staff discounts.
