The former Bank pub was refurbished by Livelyhood and reopened as the Mere Scribbler in April 2017. The pub takes its new name from the nickname of local 18th century satirical novelist, diarist and playwright Frances Burney.
Two real ales were available but have subsequently been reduced to one, although a good selection of keg and bottled beers, wines and cocktails are available.
The food offering runs from bar snacks to a full Sunday roast.
Several TVs show sport, including SKY and BT Sport channels and there is a dedicated sports area to the rear of the pub with giant screens.
