Ancient pub opposite the church in the village of Penkhull, situated on a hill between Newcastle and Stoke; it used to be used as the Manor Courthouse up to the fifteenth century. The bar room houses the gaming activities, the lounge boasts a roaring fire and there is a small snug named after the gentleman credited with turning the building into a pub in 1704.
