The Chichester Hotel is a modern character Three Star independently owned hotel with 35 en-suite rooms, surrounded by farmland.Ideally located in Wickford, Essex the hotel is very accessible from Basildon and Rayleigh and other surrounding parts of Essex. The hotel is constructed around a rectangular courtyard garden, two sides of which are flanked by bedroom accommodation and the other two sides by the fully glazed lounge bar and beautiful Gallery Restaurant so named for its display of original modern art. There is also a separate Stable Bar which is styled on a traditional English pub which serves 2 real ales. Standing on a site steeped in history, parts of the complex are shown on the earliest maps of Essex. It derives it’s name from the Norman Knight, Sir John de Chichester, who first occupied Chichester Hall, the 13th century moated farmhouse, which is still inhabited today. Created in 1975 from converted oak beamed farm buildings. 2 function areas are avaialble The Tudor Suite and the Essex Barn.
