Hatchet Inn

The Hatchet is easily found on the A27: it's the last pub before leaving Hampshire. On the right is a comfortable square public bar, on the left a long dining room, with an annexe beyond. Outside is a smallish terraced garden plus an adventurous children's play area. The pub is family-run with a team of welcoming and efficient staff. Dining here is very popular: there is a very extensive menu, much of it home-made; and the good quality portions are generous. There is a large hand-written menu on the end wall of the dining room. The same chef has been cooking here since 1990. There are 2 for 1 evening specials for fish on a Monday, and for steak on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
