Located a short distance off the main Warsash road, the building was originally farm cottages and first became a pub in 1835. The manager (since November 2014) is the son of the previous landlord, so the pub has been connected to same family since 1983 and has recently undergone major refurbishment. Food is available between midday and 2pm and 6pm to 9pm Monday to Friday, and from midday to 9pm Saturday and Sunday, with locally sourced food a speciality. Accommodation is also available. Alan Ball (RIP) the ex professional footballer, used to be a regular! Various events, such as tribute bands and discos are held and a cider and music festival is usually held annually.
