Prince Consort

Opening hours

A grade II listed building built circa 1843. Originally called The Army & Navy, it got its new moniker after Price Albert, the Prince Consort, popped in for a drink. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert had been visiting the Netley Military Hospital (in what is now Royal Victoria Country Park) and were staying in a house opposite the pub. On entering the pub you are presented by a large bar with a restaurant (doubling as a function room) to the right and a general drinking/eating area at the front and to the right. The pub has contemporary décor with tiled & wood floors. Outside at the rear are steps up to a large decked patio with benches, behind which is a building providing the 7 accommodation rooms. Food consists of a wide range of traditional pub food.
