A lively free house set on a raised terrace just across the Itchen from Wolvesey Castle and Palace. A central bar serves a variety of eclectically decorated rooms. There is more bric-a-brac than the eye can take in at one visit including many surprising stuffed animals. Outside is a large raised patio area with plenty of covered seating. Food consists of four varying pub classics plus sandwiches; bangers available between lunch and evening. 10 double, en-suite bed and breakfast rooms are available at the co-owned 'Black Hole'.
