Chestnut Horse

Opening hours

The many small rooms of this rambling half timbered inn have been opened out without loosing character, but making it easier to access at busy times. The atmosphere is helped by bare wooden floors and low beamed ceilings hung with tankards, jugs and other items, along with traditional scenes of idyllic country life adorning the walls. A large collection of empty champagne bottles fills any remaining space. There is a strong emphasis on food here with most tables laid with cutlery, though there is still room for those just wanting a drink. Owler's IPA, a keg beer, is also served. Between the pub and car park is a compact decked stepped outside seating area with an enormous umbrella covering the upper half. Alongside this is a small wooden outbuilding provides the village store. Under new management from August 2019.
