A pub has been on this site since 1830 and some of the original structure still survives in this much modernised & enlarged pub. Wetherspoon acquired the pub in 2016 and, after more than doubling its size, it reopened late March 2017. Downstairs is a large area with a long bar at the back. Upstairs at the front is a more modest area which leads to the outside balcony overlooking the large ground floor patio & Bitterne precinct. The walls are decorated with historic pictures that illustrate the history of the pub. Alcohol not served before 9am.
