Crown Inn

Large single bar pub close to Southampton University & The Common. The main entrance is in the pedestrianised Highcrown Street, but many people use the back entrance from the car park in Hawthorn Road. Popular with a wide range of clientele, both students & staff from the University and locals. Dining is popular here, and if eating, it is wise to book a table, but for all that it does remain a drinkers' pub with four beers on handpump. Nearest bus route, W1, while close, is hourly daytime only with no Sunday service; northbound U2 stop is nearby in Highfield Avenue (235m), otherwise use the stops on the Avenue about 500m away for Bluestar 1 & southbound U2.
