Pub had a major refurbishment 2020. A large pub located on the corner of the busy Hill Lane and Archers Road. The single main bar has wooden flooring throughout with a variety of tables & chairs and a pool table at the car park end. A terrace & garden lets customers enjoy their drinks while watching the traffic go by. The pub has long done accommodation and the hotel part has 12 rooms. Breakfast, served 7am-8.30am, will be served to guests and non-residents in the near future (as of September 2020). At the bar, there are three handpumps but no real ale yet, they are hoping to start serving Ringwood ales from the 28th of September 2020. The pub used to be the closest to Southampton FC's old football stadium, the Dell. Historically, the story goes that Winston Churchill once stayed here, but whether true or not his image now appears in the pub's signage. Free pool on Mondays & Thursdays.
