Crown

The Crown is set in the middle of the village opposite the duck pond, with a Dalek standing guard outside. At the heart of the local community, it has a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The main bar is stylishly refurbished with a welcoming fire in winter. The smaller bar shows films on a Monday night. The restaurant serves freshly prepared food made from local produce where possible with daily specials, and a carvery on Sunday. Tuesday is quiz and bridge night, there is a meat raffle on Saturday afternoon, plus live music is hosted (check the website for details). Accommodation is available in five en-suite bedrooms. Situated a short drive from the historic market towns of Marlborough and Hungerford, and only a stone's throw from the ancient Avebury Rings, Silbury Hill and Stonehenge. An ideal base for walkers, the famous Roman Ridgway is nearby.
