The Tuppenny opened in November 2016 in premises formally used as a hairdressers. The emphasis is on craft drinks with a range of keg craft from the likes of Renegade, Electric Bear and others. There are two handpumps on the bar serving real ales from the West Berkshire brewery. The inside has a low ceiling and is quite dark giving it a cosy feel, although it can become a bit of a squash when it is busy. The name comes from the Victorian Tuppenny gin which was a more refined premium product than the infamous “Mother’s ruin” gin. Free WiFi. Open from 8.30 till 12.00 for coffee and cake.
