Methuen Arms

An imposing and historic coaching inn at the start of the High Street, The Methuen Arms is now a upmarket hotel, pub and conference centre all in one. The spacious interior is replicated in size on the exterior with an impressive and interesting garden, including a herb and vegetable patch that is used by the kitchen. Well known on the foodie circuit there is understandably a heavy focus on high quality food, but it remains welcoming for the casual drinker too - and their four-legged friends. Butcombe Brewery bought the Methuen Arms in Dec-2016. Experienced and well-respected publicans have been brought in to run the place, and an extensive refurbishment has commenced that will complete in September-2017.
