This Grade II listed building was completely refurbished in a traditional style by new owners in February 2017 and designated as an Ale and Cider House. Fifteen hand pumps serve ten regularly changing real ales (1 Golden, 1 blonde, 2 American pale, 2 IPA & 2 bitter, 1 bitter line will become a stout/Porter for the Autumn/Winter. The full ten lines will be operational as soon as demand returns. Five real ciders (1 medium, 1 dry, 1 scrumpy, 1 flavoured - usually seacider or lilleys, 1 perry) and 19 keg lines: 1-2 sours, 1-2 stouts, 2 cider (both apple), 3 lager, 1 pilsner, 11-13 Pale/IPA. There will always be at least one ale from Big Smoke Brewery in Surbiton. The pub has a collection of vinyl records which are often played and a good selection of traditional pub food is available. Upstairs there is a function room with hand pumps on the bar and seating for up to 80 people. Unusually, there is a small, partly covered, roof-terrace, to cater for smokers, and those wishing to savour the outside atmosphere. Quiz night is Monday.
