The pub was previously known as Oversley House, and was a private home until the mid 20th Century. For some of this time at least it was in the hands of the Boddington brewing family. Pictures of the Boddington family adorn the walls. After a spell as a residential home for the elderly, the building became Oversley House Hotel. The hotel then became a public house known as The Marmalade Cat in around 2002 and was later taken over and re-named the Honey Bee by Vintage Inns, a Mitchells & Butlers brand. The pub is set back on the east side of the main A538 Wilmslow – Altrincham Road and has an extensive car park to the side and rear. A garden area on the south side is a sun-trap in summer and sunshade umbrellas are available at some tables. There is no special area set aside for smokers and no permanent outdoor shelter. Families are welcome. The pub is still divided into several rooms although the entrances have been opened out to give it a light and airy feel. There are plenty of tables and chairs and an area to the left of the main door is reserved for drinkers only. You can drink almost anywhere in the pub but the rear is more of a restaurant area. Food is very popular and is served all day. Bar snacks or something more substantial are served at your table and are good value for money. Most easily reached by car, although there is a Monday – Saturday daytime hourly bus service 88 to Morley Green Road opposite. This pub is popular with the retired, business people from the airport nearby and families. Sharps Doom Bar & Thwaites Wainwright are the staple beers with a guest beer often available. Swan neck handpumps are used.
