George & Dragon

A large striking brick and stone corner building and one of the area’s most popular and busy pubs. Originally built for Clarke's Reddish Brewery, it then became part of the substantial Boddingtons estate. The George and Dragon was opened out considerably some years ago but still retains its distinct areas and sense of community. Large L-shaped room fronts the bar with a few raised areas that add interest to the eye. Then to one side is a quieter room that acts as a dining room during the day. TV sport and good value meals 12-8 (7 Sat-Sun).
